Wildcat Fans,

Tonight the Wildcats won their first Sectional title since 2007.  Their team time of 81:20 is the 11th fastest in school history and the fastest mark ever posted at the Sectional for the Cats.  Sophomore Ethan Hoeft continued his strong October with a third place finish.  He was closely followed by Junior Joe Murphy, whose mark of 16:13 makes him the 10th fastest all-time Junior and #26 in school history.

The Wildcats will toe the line on Saturday for the much anticipated Brebeuf Regional.

Marion County Championships

Wildcat Fans,

The #10 Wildcats finished a very close second place at the Marion County Championships on Saturday.  Despite toeing the line without stand-out Senior Joey Khamis in the line-up, the 'Cats showed their depth by running the 20th fastest team time in school history and falling just short of their first County title since 2004.  The 'Cats had four all-county individuls; Ethan Hoeft (5th), Joe Murphy (9th), Jake Hanawalt (12th) and Adam Oldham (15th).

In Freshman Championship race the Wildcats lost another close race with the Bears of LC and to take Third.  They were led by two all-county freshman finishes; Matt Hoskins (5th) and Jonathan Dean (13th).  Likewise, the Bearcats of Fall Creek Valley won their FOURTH consecutive Marion County title.  The 'Cats were lead by three outstanding future Wildcats; Kyle Harris (10:29-3rd), Will Reid (10:38-5th), Alex Cordoso (10:41-7th).

What a great weekend to be a Wildcat...

Wildcat Fans,

The JV team was in action this weekend at the Southport Invitational.  The Wildcats finished an impressive 3rd among the 14 team Varsity race.  They were lead by Sophomore Erik Perkins, whose personal best mark of 17:18 was good enough for a 16th place finish.  Senior Michael Socks closely followed Perkins with a season best of 17:34.

The Wildcats will be in action next on Tuesday at the Wildcat JV Invitational at Northview Christian Church in Carmel, IN.  Saturday at Brebeuf the Wildcats will be in search of their first Marion County title since 2004.

Mason, Ben Davis and Flashrock

Wildcat Fans,

The past two weekends have been absolutely packed with LNXC action!

The action started with a split weekend on Saturday, September 8th.  The Varsity team traveled to Mason, OH for the Mason Invitational.  This meet featured several out of state competitors including OH#3 Mason.  The course is known for it's obstacles as it features a creek crossing, hay bail jumps and a large mulch hill.  These challenges were made even more difficult with the addition of roughly 4.5 inches of rain.  The Wildcats managed to capture second despite the sloppy conditions losing by a slim margin to Mason.  Back in Indianapolis, the JV team got their first taste of Varsity competition as they toed the line at the Ben Davis Invite.  Like Mason, BD got a lot of rain and the course was sloppy and long.  The 'Cats responded to these conditions well and finished a very respectable 12th place.

This weekend the Wildcats went to work at the Flashrock Invitational held at Northview Christian Church in Carmel, IN.  The 'Cats had their hands full as the meet featured 14 of the top 25 teams and 8 of the top 10.  On the Varsity side the Cat's were lead by Ethan Hoeft's mark of 16:03 which puts him #3 on the all-time sophomore list.  The pack came in roughly 20 seconds behind him and the team captured a competitive 6th place.  The Wildcat's team time of 82:01 is the 20th fastest team time in school history.  As a whole 22 Wildcats ran season bests this weekend.

The Cat's will be in action this weekend at the Southport Invite.  Expect to see some of the younger talent on display at this meet as many of the Varsity runners will use the weekend to recover and prepare for the championship season coming in October.

Lafayette Harrison Invitational

Wildcat Fans,

The 'Cats captured a Runner-Up finish at the 25 team Lafayette Harrison Invitational this weekend.  The Wildcats were lead by a breakout performance from Senior Joey Khamis who finished in 6th place with a time of 16:03.  Khamis' mark was good enough to put him tied for #14 in LNXC history.  Making history as well was Sophomore Ethan Hoeft whose mark of 16:11 makes him the third fastest Sophomore of all-time.  The top five were rounded out by Junior Joe Murphy (16:27), Senior Adam Oldham (16:32) and Junior Jake Hanawalt (16:37).

The Wildcat Program will be split between two meets next weekend as the the top 10 will travel to Cincinatti, OH for the Mason Invite to take on some of the top competition from the Buckeye State.  Meanwhile, the remainder of the team will go to the storied Ben Davis Invitational to take on some of the best the Hoosier state has to offer.  This will be many of these young Wildcats first taste of varsity action.  It should be another week of great Wildcat XC action!

Danville Hokum Karem

Wildcat Fans,

This weekend the Wildcats won the Danville Hokum Karem.  Among the 20 team field was #4 ranked Hamilton Southeastern.  The 'Cats were led by the pair of Hoeft and Khamis who took second place with an average of 4:57 per mile over the six mile relay.  Closely following the front pair was the team of Robel Teklezghi and Joe Murphy who took 5th overall.  Jake Hanawalt and Adam Oldham rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats finishing 8th.  The 'Cats score of 15 was enough to beat HSE by only 2; 15-17.  Next weekend the Wildcats are in action in West Lafayette for the Harrison Invite.

Westfield Dual Meet

Wildcat Fans,

The 'Cats suffered their first loss of the season on Friday at Sahm Park.  #10 Westfield got out to an early lead in the first mile and despite the Wildcats making up much of that ground over the next two miles, the Shamrocks never fully relinquished the lead, winning 25-30.

The Wildcats were led by Sophomore Ethan Hoeft, who ran an outstanding time of 16:21.  Hoeft's mark was good enough for Second Place and was closely followed by a third place finish from Senior Joey Khamis in 16:32.  Several Wildcats set personal bests and most were within only a few seconds of their best marks.  This is encouraging given that there is still 10 weeks left in the season in which to improve.  This week the 'Cats will be tested at the Danville Hokum Karem where they will meet up with #3 Hamilton Southeastern.
